Lepismium cruciforme
Blue pine + yellow hemisphere
One of my favorite plant babies. This will grow into a beautiful trailing plant that turns pinkish red in high light. As an epiphytic cactus, adaptable to a wide range of light levels and tolerant of occasional drought!
A Brazilian epiphytic cactus from the Atlantic Forest, where it lives draped from tree branches and rocky outcrops. Lepismium cruciforme's triangular, winged stems give the species its name (cruciforme = cross-shaped in cross-section) and make it instantly distinct from any other cactus you'll meet. With enough sun, the stems turn a beautiful reddish pink and cascade downward in graceful elegant arches. In time it will reward you with beautiful small pink flowers and fruit!
It looks like a sea creature pretending to be a plant.
